To Configure General Map Settings

General map settings define which coordinate systems and layers are available for a map preset, in AssetWise CONNECT Edition.

A map preset is created via the Manage Map Presets configuration option. For more information, see Managing Map Presets.

Follow these steps to configure general map settings.

  1. From the Launchpad, click the Configuration icon ( ). Configuration options appear.
  2. Locate the Map Configuration group.
  3. Click General map settings.
    The General Map Settings page appears. For example,
  4. Select the map Preset to be used for these map settings, from the list. For example,
  5. Expand the General topic, and then select the Map and Overview Map to be used.
  6. Expand the Coordinate System Dictionary topic, and then select each coordinate system dictionary to be included in the map preset. For example,
  7. You can add a Coordinate System by doing the following:
    1. From the Actions menu, select Add Coordinate System.
      The Add Coordinate System dialog appears.
    2. Enter a Name
    3. Enter a Proj Conversion
    4. Enter a Display Name
    5. Enter the number of Fraction Digits
    6. If appropriate, select Degrees in HDMS
    7. If appropriate, select Geodesic Measurement
    8. Click Add.

    The coordinate system is added to the list.

  8. Expand the Primary Coordinate System topic, and then select the system from the list.
  9. Expand the Displayed Coordinate System topic, and then select the system from the list.
  10. Expand the Secondary Coordinate Systems topic, and then select each secondary coordinate system to be included in the map preset.
  11. You can add a Secondary Coordinate System by doing the following:
    1. From the Actions menu, select Add Coordinate System.
      The Add Coordinate System dialog appears.
    2. Select each Coordinate System that you want to include in your list.
    3. Click Add.

    Each selected coordinate system is added to the list.

  12. Expand the Layers topic, and then select each of the layers that you want to include in the map preset. For example,
  13. When you are finished, click Save Changes ( ).
The map preset settings have been updated.
